Blogger is a blog-publishing service that allows multi-user blogs with time-stamped entries.

On August 23, 1999, Blogger was launched by Pyra Labs. It is one of the earliest dedicated blog-publishing tolos.

In February 2003, Google bought it terms. The acquisition allowed premium features to become free. In October 2004, it integrated Picasa and its photo sharing utility Hello into Blogger, allowingthey allowed users to post photos to their blog.

On May 9, 2004, Blogger introduced a major redesign, adding features such as web standards-compliant templates, individual archive pages for posts, comments, and posting by email. In September 2009, Google introduced new features into Blogger as part of its tenth-anniversary celebration. The features included:
·         Adding location to posts via geotagging.
·         Vertical re-sizing of the post editor.
·         New Preview format
·         New toolbar with faster loading time, and "undo" and "redo" buttons.
In 2010, Blogger introduced new templates and redesigned its website.  As of late 2016, Blogger is available in these 60 languages, including languages such as Spanish, English, French, German, Greek, Chinese, Dutch, Italian or Portuguese.

William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare was born on the 23rd of April 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, in England. His father was a glove maker, and his business did well, so William’s family was not poor. His father became an important person in the town.

William was the eldest boy in the family, so he had to help his father. One day, he went to a market with his younger brother, Edmund. Edmund slipped because it was muddy, and a young woman helped him to stand up.

 Her name was Anne Hathaway, and she lived near Stratford. After this meeting at the market, William and Anne fell in love, and they married in 1582.

Anne gave birth to their first child, Susanna, in 1583. At first, William and Anne lived with William’s parents, but they moved to another house in 1584. Their twins, Judith and Hamnet, were born in 1585. Sadly, Hamnet died when he was only eleven years old. William was not happy in Stratford, because he wanted to work in the best theatres. But these were in London, so in 1587 William went to live there to follow his dream.

He asked his brother to look after his wife and children, and he sent money home to Stratford and visited when he could. During his career, he worked as an actor, and he also wrote thirty seven plays: seventeen comedies, ten histories and ten tragedies, as well as poems.

Shakespeare became rich and famous and his company of actors had enough money for a new theatre, The Globe, built in 1598. During a play in 1613, a fire started and The Globe burnt down and Shakespeare retired after the accident.

He died on his birthday, aged 52, in 1616, and was buried in a church in Stratford. His daughter Susanna inherited most of his money and possessions.

Leonardo Da Vinci reading comprehension

Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 and he was Italian. He never married nor had children. Unbelievably his assistant inherited his entire estate. He lived during the Renaissance era, which was all about important developments and discoveries in areas such as art and science. The name Leonardo da Vinci translates to ‘Leonard from the town of Vinci’. That sounds quite weird, but that was how they named people back then. 

Why was he famous?

Well actually quite a lot; he was a brilliant artist, sculptor, draftsman, inventor, scientist, mathematician, engineer, costume maker, writer and musician and he was also very interested in the laws of science and nature, which greatly influenced his work.

He is without a doubt known as one of the greatest painters of all time, and quite possibly the most talented person that has ever lived. 

What was his childhood like?

He was the child of a respected notary, who is a person who can do all sorts of legal things, and a young peasant woman. At 14 he learnt and worked for an artist Verrocchio, where he learnt loads of technical skills, including metalworking, leather arts, carpentry, drawing and sculpting. By age 20, he had qualified as a master artist in the Guild of Saint Luke, which was like a prestigious association that was for painters and artists, and now had his very own workshop.

What else did he do?

He loved animals and was a vegetarian throughout his life. He also liked to buy caged birds so that he could set them free. That’s nice!

He hated war, but besides this he worked as a military engineer to invent advanced and deadly weapons, drawing plans for the first armored car in 1485. He also invented the bicycle 300 years before it appeared on the road and created an inflatable tube so people could float on water. Ah, no now we know who to thank for that awesome creation that is heaps of fun.

Ed Sheeran biography

Ed Sheeran was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire on 17 February 1991. He began playing guitar at a young age and soon after started writing his own songs. When he was a child, he moved with his family from Hebden Bridge to Framlingham in Suffolk. He has an older brother named Matthew who works as a composer. Sheeran's parents, John and Imogen, are from London. John is an art curator and lecturer, and Imogen is a culture publicist turned jewellery designer.

Sheeran sang in a local church choir at the age of four. Sheeran began recording music in 2004, and independently released his first collection of work, Spinning Man.

He successfully auditioned for Youth Music Theatre UK in 2007. He moved to London in 2008, and began playing in small venues and he auditioned for the ITV series, Britannia High.

In the autumn of 2009, Sheeran began studying music at the Academy of Contemporary Music (ACM) in Guildford. Sheeran began to be seen by more people over the internet through YouTube and his fan-base grew.

On 2 January 2017, after a social media break he posted a 10-second video on Twitter and other social media showing what was the cover design of his forthcoming album entitled ÷ (pronounced "divide") which was released on 3 March 2017. The album debuted at number one in the UK, the US, Germany, Australia, Canada and other major markets.
